So I was talking to my mom yesterday and realized that I have not updated the blog in almost a whole month! This definitely deserves an award :) and I give it to myself "The Slacker Award" :) So I noticed since I started the 365 I have been neglecting the blog. I however am proud of myself for keeping up with the 365, it is honestly more work than I thought. I did pretty much take pictures of E daily but the coming on the computer and uploading & posting takes time, something I haven't had too much of lately. Well what have we been up too for the past month, ohhh a little of everything I would say I think I am going to have to break this post down into several different ones because it would be an overload if I put everything down. So I will be back several times this week (Promise) with updates on the hubby, myself and our babe... If you haven't noticed, the blog is undergoing some "remodeling" so please excuse any glitches for the next few weeks :) but anyway, we have a ton of stuff that we have been doing but I guess I should update on Eli first since I apparently missed his 7 month update.
He is doing GREAT... as can be expected, we STTN for a week and a half and he has been back to his old ways for some time now... ohh well, I still cling to a bit of hope that someday he will give me a little break, I really don't mind getting up though, with how quickly these last 7 months have gone by, I find myself pretty much running to his room whenever he cries at night to nurse, cuddle and love him. Those moments I spend with him in the early morning I know I will never get back and it's absolutely perfect feeling so connected and in love with our child I love feeling his little hand on my cheek while he nurses and then watching him slowly falls back to sleep. He wakes up extremely happy and I still enjoy taking him to our bed since Mark is gone by the time he gets up and we cuddle there for at least a good 20 minutes before we go downstairs for breakfast. He is still nursing like a champ and has gained almost 2 lbs since I started taking the Domperidone. He smiles pretty much all day and still prefers to be carried. I still like to baby wear (Moby, or ring sling) a lot. He is definitely a Mommas boy and I LOVE IT! I guess I will stop now because I can go on forever with things he has been up too, I posted a list of other updates below, but look for more posts throughout the week. We have tons of stuff to share :)
E's 7 1/2 month Updates!
- Most importantly He Graduated from his Doc Band (Helmet) something we were very excited about.
- He started blowing bubbles
- Had his first trip to the snow
- Has been eating many things (peas, carrots, green beans, yams, sweet potato, corn, butternut squash, zucchini, spinach, pear, banana, grapes, strawberries, cantaloupe, kiwi, cottage cheese, yogurt, avocado, asparagus and broccoli) He is a very good eater and so far I have not had any issues with him not liking anything. He does prefer some foods over others, but I try and mix in the ones he is not too fond of with the ones he likes. He also finally started taking the rice cereal and oatmeal, so I add some into his purees which gives it some texture which he loves. It's nice now because he is getting some more iron in him, before I was giving him a few drops of an iron vitamin a day (recommended by his pedi since I make my own baby food & he wasn't taking the rice cereal)
- He drinks water from his sippy cup pretty well now, from a straw, and straight out of the cup. Now whenever he sees mommy, daddy or auntie with a cup, he wants whatever is in there and gets angry if we don't give it to him... I have had to deal with some temper tantrums already because sometimes I am drinking coffee and he wants my mug! :)
- Has finally got his "pincher" down, he loves to feed himself. I have steamed some veggies for him and he loves to pick them up on his own, he snacks on yogurt puffs, veggie puffs, & little crunchies. We think he will be right handed at this point, he seemed pretty consistent with his left hand and would pick everything up with his left until about a week ago, we noticed that if he picks something up with his left, he will switch it over to his right before putting it into his mouth.
- He RUNS in his walker now
- Still hates being on his belly, I don't think he will ever crawl. He seems very close to it most days like he is right there but nothing. Which is fine with me at this point, I am able to still sit him down in one spot and for the most part he doesn't move too much from it, he will butt scoot to get to a toy if he wants but it's usually no more than like a five food radius. He is still ok in our living room, once he makes himself over to the kitchen then we might have to consider a baby jail :)
- He also transitioned from his baby tub to big boy tub which he loves
- Loves Cell phones & Keyboards
- Loves his big boy stroller & going for walks to the park or at the mall
- Has gone on many play dates with his buddies & is starting to interact with them smile at them, talk to them. (It is so neat to see him grow from one day to the next & amazing to see how well he recognizes some people or babies)
- Loves the dogs (yes we have another one, will share that though in another post)
- He is also doing this thing now where he does what I call his "Viejito face" (Old Man Face) It is so stinking cute, I will say "E do a Viejito" & he crinkles his nose and squints his eyes it's so cute!
Just some random pic's I was playing with the settings on the camera
Having lunch in Nogales with Nana
His famous "Viejito Face" Isn't it stinking cute!
Down in RR at Nana & Tata's house, after a bath & having my first popsicle ever my Auntie's gave it to me and needless to say mommy was NOT happy
Tata took E on a walk down in RR & then before one of his many play dates up in Phx.
And I have been raving about the awesome job my hubby did hooking up the surveillance camera to the TV in our bedroom (& other TV's in the house)... This is what I see at night, it is color during the day! Ohh & he loves to sleep like that he rolls around the entire crib!

Wow he's gotten so big! I loooove his hair!
ReplyDeleteYay for graduating from his helmet!
I love his "Viejito Face" my two other kids loved doing that as well, Jaslyn not so much. Well at least not yet. I think it's so cute too. I remember I would tell my other kids to show me their viejito face and they'd do it on demand LOL
That is too cute Carolyn, I am glad someone else know's what the "Viejito face is" :) E pretty much does it on demand now too, it's so funny, & then he starts cracking up once we laugh at him. Jaslyn is getting so big & is just precious!!
ReplyDeleteHe is so adorable & I love the face that he makes & the fact that he does it on command. Can't wait for all the updates on what you guys have been up too.....I missed you guys :)
ReplyDeleteI am the same way you are I so want to run in everytime he cries but we are not doign that now & it is KILLING me...what if he is saying mommy in baby talk & I don't come to the rescue for him.....hahaha
Hope that you guys are all doing well & by the way B isn't STTN every night either but is some so I guess some is better than none right??
