Ummmmm... I can't remember what happened this weekend. I seriously just brain farted big time!
8 month stats,- E is now snorting when he laughs (he does it on purpose because he knows that we laugh and he gets attention & then afterwards he does his "Viejito" face)
- Has gone on an eating strike, for some reason he has been really bad at eating lately, he does still nurse about 8 times a day actually I guess he doesn't nurse, more like snacks. It is pretty frustrating because I am constantly worried about him being hungry. He does not want purees anymore he spits them out and only wants things he can feed himself. Steamed veggies, veggie chips, string cheese (Not sure if he should be eating this yet, but somedays you just gotta do what works) mandarin oranges, strawberries, and kiwi are pretty much the only things he is taking right now.
- Still no STTN
- No longer lets mommy take pictures, he sees the camera and a) starts reaching for it, b)turns his back to me (not kidding) or c) A
- lmost weighs 18 lbs and is 29 1/2 inches long (Not sure what percent, we go to the doc's next month)
- Still size 3 diapers
- 12 month clothes, although the shirts all fit him very big :( pants are good though
- sleeps on his right side just like mommy (Well when he sleeps)
- Still not teeth, but we "Think" they are coming soon (We have been pre-teething since Jan, however this time his poor little gums look like they are going to explode) So we are hoping soon, maybe then mommy might get a few more hours of sleep at night.
- Already understands Cause & Effect, he knows that if he spins, the dolphins move (on one of his toys) he knows that if he drops a toy, the dumb adults will come running to pick it up, and as soon as they turn their back down to the floor it goes again and then comes yet another dumb adult... and the game goes on until mommy finally takes the toy away!
- He knows to "Turn the page" while we are reading, after I am finished with a page, I say "Ok, turn the page" and he does! :) Sometimes he gets a little too excited though and just wants to continue turning since he gets praise when he does!
- Gives the dogs kisses (Yup) I am not too happy with that, but I have not figured out a way to make him stop, when he sees the dogs near him, he opens his mouth wide open and literally just waits for a kiss... now when I have him on the floor, I try and keep the dogs outside until we are done playing.
- He has gotten up on all fours!
- Still not crawling, he spins on his little hiney like there is no tomorrow and he butt scoots everywhere.
- Pulls up on anything now, but he has no control over his legs, as soon as he is up he wants to start bouncing from excitement and then he falls over!
Ok, back to this weekend, is it sad that I had to go back and look at pictures to remember what we did? :( (I have not been sleeping well lately, not because of E or M but me, explanation in another post) Well I honestly can't remember what we did on Friday, I think we just hung around here and relaxed, Saturday we went over to our Local Park for a Spring Festival, our Church sponsored a Salsa Contest, there were about 20 contestants, Mark and I tried every single salsa, although I thought they were all very good, I don't think my stomach agreed with me later on that day. We walked around for a few hours and then headed back home. I took care of E while M worked on the backyard some more. Sunday we just went to church and ran errands. I really liked this weeks service and will have to post about it later on this week, however the most exciting part of Church was that M and I left E at the nursery for the first time ever!!! At breakfast M was complaining how we don't get to sit through service together anymore because I was always at the baby lounge with E, although the baby lounge is set up really nice with gliders and a TV to see the service, I could hardly ever hear what was being said because of everyone else talking so after church each week I always had to ask M what it was about... Well when we got there on Sunday we noticed that the baby lounge was no longer at it's normal location so we were redirected to the new spot which was located right outside the nursery.... (hmmmm, E is sleeping in the stroller, will probably sleep for about another half hour... Why Not???) So we left him! So M and I hurried off. they have 3 big screens set up for everyone to be able to follow scriptures on, and occasionally on the bottom left hand of those screens you will often see a Red number pop up. Those Red numbers are assigned to each baby, so if something happens, the red number is just flashed, if it is your baby's number you know to quietly get up and head over to the nursery to see what is up! Well after I was finished crying over leaving him in the nursery I figured I would be able to enjoy the service... WRONG, I spent the first half of it staring at the bottom left corner just waiting for G(something) :) to pop up! I waited, and waited, and then waited some more and nothing. I finally started to relax towards the end and was able to listen to the last half (Which was great by the way) After it was over we rushed over to get E. I peeked in and to my disbelief he was in an exersaucer laughing! Yes, my child was laughing with complete strangers to him! I asked one of the helpers how he did and as soon as he heard my voice he started screaming like there was no tomorrow! (yeah, my kid has me wrapped around his finger and I realized then that he knows very well how to manipulate mommy in order to get what he wants) Ahhhh... not sure how I am going to break that habit since I really can't stand to hear him cry. But anyway, now we know that he is perfectly ok staying in the nursery and Mommy & Daddy can now enjoy the services together! :)
This was from a week ago, we were making signs for our yard sale & E helped out too!
One of his St. Patty's day outfits! My Sister in law made the onsie if you are interested.
My hubby going to town on the Salsa's! It's a good thing he married a Mexican with how much he loves it! :)
At the fair
This is Noodles, a new member of the family (bought at Petsmart people & FWIW, feels just like the Sofie)
Some days you just gotta do what works, today it was a bit of sun, a box of cheerios & watching daddy work!

He is so cute & try not to stress about his eating too much. He will eat when he is hungry I'm sure & he might not feel like eating if hs teeth are working their way through :)
ReplyDeleteI think our boys might be 2 peas in a pod because B has me wrapped too; he knows just what to do to get mommys attention & keep it :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog and thank you for the prayer... It means alot.
ReplyDeleteYour baby is so adorable!
AHHHH, your baby is so adorable. What a cutie! I am doing well; we bought a dog and a house in Gilbert in October and got married in November. I am just busy working as a personal banker for MidFirst bank and loving life. How are you and that little family of yours? Where do you work?
