So after debating for a while, I finally decided on starting a blog. Now that we are nearing the end of the first trimester, I feel a little more at ease with the pregnancy. I can finally stop holding my breath!
When Mark and I got married, we decided to forgo with the "Birth Control". With my family history and my "not so monthly cylces" we figured it was best if we just let it be. Besides, we started talking about when would be a "Good Time" to start trying but there never really was. I wanted to wait to finish school in May, He wanted to wait until we went backpaking in the summer, then I wanted to wait until I got my first two year of teaching out of the way, and then he claimed he didn't want to be 30 by the time he had his first child! So we finally just left it as "If it happens it happens".... And ohh behold.... IT HAPPENED. Sooner than what we ever thought, but needless to say we were SUPER Excited! I think the hardest part of all was not being able to tell anyone. We decided to hold off and tell the families on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day which ended up being the best time to tell them since everyone was there. We told my family on Christmas Eve. (Thanks Tia Mercy for all your help). We decided to make copies of the ultrasound picture and put them in a frame, we wrapped them and had the Granparents open them. Tata (Grandpa) Taddey was jumping up and down and hording the ultrasound picture! :) He was so cute. He didn't even want to let go of it long enough for Great Grandpa to take a picture of it! Nana Dora got so emotional and started to cry along with Tia Kayla and Kenya. We flew up to California on Christmas day. Since Mark is not one to love attention we decided to tell his parents alone. I think we caught them off guard, I don't think they expected to hear they were going to be Grandparents from us so soon! :) Yet grandma Lynn claimed she had her suspisions already. Poppa George told everyone at dinner and all the Great Grandparents were very excited!
I took 3 Home Pregnancy tests before I could believe it!
