Yup, you read that right, our child finally sleeping through the night! We did his normal routine, played & book while Mark cleaned his helmet, we bathed him, lotion massage, changed him and I nursed him. He woke up as soon as I put him in his crib and started crying. We are doing the 5-10 min. Which seem to work, after five minutes of crying, I went in, patted his belly, never picked him up, gave him his pacifier, said I love you, you're ok and I left his room. Well he was out cold within 2 minutes of that and he stayed like the the entire night! I woke up at 3:00 am since that is when he normally gets up and I was just staring at the TV waiting for him to start crying... 10 minutes passed and nothing, 20 and nothing, finally after a half hour I was a paranoid mother and went in just to see him. He was soundly asleep. He didn't wake up until 6:30 am today, nursed and then was out again until 8:00 am! I am REALLY hoping he plans on making a habit out of this and is not just teasing me! But I am keeping my fingers crossed! :) Anyway I was just really excited and decided I should blog about it. Ohh and operation crib has been a huge success! Both baby and parents are sleeping much better! :) I am a little more at ease now since I can see him on our TV all night plus I have the baby monitor as well. So anyway, keep your fingers crossed that we go for 2 nights in a row of STTN and I will be updating soon on his 6 months since we are only a few days away! :)
YEAH!!!!! What great news!
ReplyDeleteYay!! Even though I do not have a baby I know that when I do this will be something I will be excited to blog about! Enjoy the extra sleep!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! How did the last few nights go for you? It made a big difference when we put him in his crib as well. Thanks for sharing your blog!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome. Is he keeping it up? We might have to do sleep training soon as well.
