27 Week Belly Picture
So this week was great for me! Not pregnancy related, I got my results back from the State of Arizona and I passed BOTH of my state exams! Woohooo!!! I was really worried about them and didn't want to have to retake them as they are very mentally exhausting to take. I finished my last class at ASU today as well, I had my final and got a 100% on it! :) Woohooo again! This is also my last week with the kiddos (once I am through with student teaching) I will be an official "Highly Qualified" Early Childhood Teacher! Woohooo one more time! :) I really just can't believe how time has gone by so fast! I have to admit that around February all I wanted to do was drop everything and quit. I felt very discouraged that I had to stop student teaching being so close to finishing. I thankfully have a wonderful husband who pushed me through it and encouraged me to argue my case with ASU. I was able to pretty much pick up where I left off, only this time I was placed at a school only 5 minutes away from home with a wonderful teacher! I am a true believer of believing in "everything happens for a reason" however when you feel so discouraged it's hard to make yourself believe that. Well this time it really couldn't have worked out any better for me. The kiddo's are wonderful, the teacher is wonderful and I have had many great opportunities to advance my career there! So I really want to take this time to thank my wonderful hubby! I LOVE YOU BABE! The baby and I are incredibly lucky to have you be such a HUGE part of our lives! My graduation is scheduled for next Friday the 15th, however, I will not be attending. Instead, I will be down in Rio Rico at Kayla's graduation! (Yes they are both scheduled the same day)! My parents are truly lucky to have 2 daughters graduating! Mark and I talked about it and I decided it as more important for me to be able to be a part of Kayla's graduation. Especially with how upset I was at ASU, I really don't want much to do with it anymore. I just want out! :)
Ok... on to pregnancy news... I had my 27 week appt on Friday. Everything looks great. I have gained a total of 14 lbs! (which is great, I honestly thought it was more considering I feel big now) I took my one hour glucose test which I passed with flying colors. My blood work did show up as me being borderline anemic so I needed to add some more iron. I also had some very sharp pains around my belly button last Thursday and Friday, my belly button also has a little bulge that pops out when I sneeze, cough, or tighten my stomach muscles to roll over. I showed the doctor and she said it might be a hernia, however there is not much they can do for it at this point. (This wasn't my regular doctor so I will be sure to bring it up again in 3 weeks at my next appt) luckily the pain did not continue. I was pretty mild on Saturday but gone by Sunday and I feel great right now. My entire body has continued to itch so Mark got me some Aveno lotion with Menthol to help the itchiness, so far it hasn't helped too much, the next move is trying some Benedryll. I still only have one stretch mark and it hasn't grown, however my belly has been really read and itchy so I am just waiting for them to come it... I am betting they might start showing up in a few weeks! (I am still hopeful though, I keep rubbing that lotion on). My new shoes that Mark got me officially smell! Yes... with how much my feet sweat I have made those nice comfy shoes smell! I am really bumbed because I add a powder to them and they continue to sweat, I don't know what else to do, I have never really had smelly feet, it has never been an issue for me so I am hoping it passes once the pregnancy is over. Heartburn continues to be an issue at night and I am officially uncomfortable sleeping on my back now! The baby has continued to kick, only now it is really visible when he is kicking or changing positions in there! When he moves my entire belly jiggles like jello! :) It is pretty neat to watch. He has also kicked me a few times and caused some discomfort so I am cautiously waiting for the big kick when he actually hurts me!
Everything else is good, Mark has been working most Saturdays which has only left Sundays for us to be together. Which is when we go to church and run our errands, this weekend we were both in the mood to be out and about so we went shopping for a little of everything, then we come home and play with Eddie and watch a movie or do something together. So all in all life is pretty good right now. God has been great with us and we have nothing to complain about. :)
Congrats on passing your state exams & your 1 hour with flying colors!!! WOO HOO!!
