30 Week Update & Nursery Progress!!!!

30 Week Belly Picture

Not too much pregnancy wise, other than my heartburn seems to be better! Maybe switching things up in my diet did help a little, and I think there has been some more growth within the last few days because it seems like I am getting 2 more stretch marks :( right ON my appendix scar bringing the grand total to 3! :( Oh well... I know I still have about 9 weeks to go and have plenty more to come. I am still craving a lot of fruit (frozen to be exact) although I think I have moved passed the frozen grapes to just about frozen everything! Peaches, mandarins, strawberries, mango, pineapple... EVERYTHING! I have been very thirsty for some reason so I am drinking even more water which is killing me at night! Ohh and on Saturday night I "officially" was uncomfortable sleeping. I moved to a different bedroom at 2:00 am! I was up for a while but was finally able to get some sleep. Last night I was expecting the same thing however ended up feeling surprisingly comfortable! I am thinking this feeling of being uncomfortable will come and go. I am also having a very hard time going up the stairs now! By the time I get up to the top I am so out of breath that I need to sit or lie down! It's ridiculous it feels like I ran a marathon or something, which brings me to working out... since I am no longer running around after kiddo's or keeping myself that busy, I am starting to "lightly" work out today, maybe do a pregnancy workout video I got and get back on the treadmill and walk for a bit. I think that is all my body will be able to handle right now if even that but I am at least hoping that it will help a bit. I have also continued getting some Braxton Hicks contractions, not painful but uncomfortable. The little guy hasn't been as active this weekend as he had been, I am thinking he is switching up his schedule on me because I have felt him moving at different times now.

So it's been a busy week! Full of excitement! First of all, we had our 30 week appt. and ultrasound (you can read about that on the previous post) then I went to the hospital to pre-register and schedule our tour. I also finished school with the kiddo's last week so I have been busy cleaning the house (mostly our bedroom, closet and the baby's room). I have just about got our closet organized to the point that I would like it, our room still has a little to go considering I want to paint it and have to move furniture around but I need Mark for that and I had his hands tied up this weekend with Baby stuff. We really didn't do anything for Memorial Day Weekend, he had to work Saturday so it only gave us Saturday evening. We went out baby shopping, we got the travel system for out little man (pictures coming soon) then we went to Burlington Coat Factory because I wanted to compare the bedding that I wanted to one I saw at Babies 'R' Us. Well, I had my heart set on the one from Burlington Coat Factory for the longest time which was from Lambs and Ivy the Papagayo series, but after being at Babies 'R' Us, I really liked their Mod Pod Pop Monkey series. It is Green, Brown and Tan! The colors I wanted to use in the first place, so we ended up picking that up! Then we went to dinner at Chilli's. Yesterday we got up early went to church, stopped at a few stores to pick up groceries and a few little other things and them came straight home. I was way too anxious to get started on putting the baby's room together, and I have to say it is finally coming along! There are still things I want to add to it, but the big things at least are in. After church I came home and washed the sheets and dust ruffle along with all of the receiving blankets and wash clothes I had. I steam cleaned the bumper and quilt while the other stuff was in the washer/dryer. Mark finished up with the dresser/hutch combo and put it in it's place and he organized the bookshelf in the baby's room as well.

Here is Mark putting together the dresser/hutch combo... notice that our little dog Eddie is in almost every picture! It was hilarious, he would not let Mark work, he was so curious and kept getting in the way. I actually think he was supervising Mark making sure he didn't mess anything up. (And yes, I know, I have him in a pink harness, I could not find his blue one and was taking him for a walk so I put him in Sugar's old one).

Eddie is seriously inspecting every aspect of it!

Making sure he did not miss a spot!

All Done! Mark sliding it in it's place!

I am very glad that Mark made me wait to buy the dresser. I originally wanted a different one because this particular one was very expensive. Through "Room for Baby" a baby store down here, it was going to cost us close to $1200 for the dresser and hutch. It is by Million Dollar Baby the Kalani series. I ended up finding it at Babies "R" Us and Burlington Coat Factory for a slightly cheaper price. Then I ran across it online at Target! They had a GREAT deal going on, it was on sale for pretty much half the price, plus if you spent over $300 they took 25% off the total cost and it was FREE shipping! We ended up paying $550 for both! And it is real wood (pine to be exact) not like the other dresser I was looking at that was just compressed wood. I LOVE my husband for making me wait because I know I will be a lot happier in the long run with this one!

And here it is! Our dresser/hutch combo all finished up and in it's spot. The empty spot is where I will put the changing pad on, oh and all those books up there all all Dr. Seuss and Disney. Mark and I were at Half Price Books about 6 months ago, I was talking to this lady telling her that I loved going there to buy books for school, I explained that I was going to school to be a teacher well after about a 20 minute conversation we went on our way. When Mark and I got outside, she was waiting for us with these! She was going to donate them but said that I would probably put them to better use!

Here are some of the details on the hutch. I got this little monkey piggy bank from a gift exchange on the bump! It fits in PERFECT with the room!

I got this frame from WalMart for $2. It is from Fisher Price the "Precious Planet" series. I loved the frame and had to get it!

I got this basket through Burlington Coat Factory and already filled it up with some newborn diapers, baby lotion, baby oil, baby powder, desitin and q-tips!

Here is the little man's book shelf! He is lucky that his mommy went to school to be a teacher and has been collecting books for years. Not to mention that Nana Taddey donated a lot of them as well and some very nice teachers along the way also contributed to the collection!

Here is the bedding we went with!

The adorable little monkey!

The mobile

Ok, so the monkey's on there are not the cutest but I still love it!

A closeup of the pattern on the bedding

The final product! I am so happy it is finally coming along. Like I said there is still plenty that I want to do with the room, but I am just so happy that we have this much done already!
