What a Weekend!

So I was driving home Friday afternoon with a horrible headache and a fever. As soon as I got home I ended up going straight to bed. Mark had to go up to California earlier that morning so I ended up just sleeping the rest of the night and only got up to answer the phone when Mark called. By Saturday morning my headache had gotten worse. I started to feel my right eye twitch which usually means that I am going to get a migraine. I called my doctor right away to see if there was anything I could take to try and prevent the migraine since I can no longer take my shots because they aren't safe for the baby. They said only Tylenol which by the way I had been taking since Wednesday for my fevers that I still had. They told me that they were a little concerned that I had a fever for that long and now in combination with a headache! They told me to go straight tot he ER. I called my aunt who ended up taking me. We were there for about 6 hours. They took some blood and the doctor told me he wanted to test me for Meningitis, however the only way he could test for that was if he did a LP (Lumbar Puncture)! Are you freaking kidding me! There is no way I would be getting that done without a second opinion, especially with how insistent he was being that I get it done! I hadn't gotten a good feeling from him when I saw him in the first place and I felt like he was trying to pressure me into getting the LP done. Besides he never even bothered checking anything else! I told him no, that I would rather wait until Mark got back to make that decision together. The doctor left and ended up leaving me there waiting for two more hours just to get my release paperwork! I was furious!!!! We finally got out of there at about 6:30 with a prescription of Vicaden for my head... hmmm. Not a great experience, and no news on what was causing my fever! When Mark got back that night, he ended up talking to the nurse that was there at the hospital regarding the LP she said that they suggest doing it to anyone that has had a fever in combination with a headache, so they aren't even trying to test people for anything else they are just going straight to that! So we both decided on not going through the LP.
