33 Week Checkup & Hospital Tour

So we went in for the 33 week checkup and everything is looking FANTASTIC! I was able to put on 2 more lbs (Hence the growth spurt I was talking about) bringing it to 16 total! The doctor said that is ok and if I continue like this I should be at around the 25 lbs mark or just a little under by the time I have this little guy! I know it seems weird that I was concerned about not gaining weight when most girls don't want to put it on but for some reason it just helps me reassure myself that everything is ok knowing that he is growing healthy in there. (This just goes to show you that you can't have your cake and eat it too, as humans we always want something else). Anyway, my belly did grow and is sticking out more, the little guy's heartbeat was 147 bpm and my doctor prescribed some different medicine for my heartburn. This is hopefully the last step though, she said they are pretty strong and should help. I had also forgotten to mention that I have a hiatal hernia in my esophagus so that doesn't help my heartburn issue, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that with this new medication we can get is somewhat under control.

Mark and I also went on our Hospital Tour last week (I forgot to mention that on my previous post). Anyway, we went on Thursday evening we made it into a little date night since we hadn't been able to spend time with each other. We had dinner there at the hospital (yeah I know so romantic) but Mark said if he was going to have to be eating there within the next few months he might as well figure out what is good and what is not. Dinner was ok we had a nice conversation and then we headed up to the 3rd floor which is the Family Birth Center. We hung out there until our host came and got us. Overall we were very happy with the Hospital we picked. The entire 3rd floor is dedicated for Birthing, if I were to have an emergency C-Section, they have OR rooms there. They offer what they call "Couplet Care", which means that the baby NEVER leaves my room! Where I have him is where he will stay unless there is an emergency where he has to be taken to the nursery but Mark (or one of our mom's) would stay with him at all times. They also put wrist bands on Mark and I that match the alarm they will attach to his little ankle. If for some reason the baby is anywhere near any of the exit doors, the sensor on the Alarm automatically shuts (locks) down the entire hospital and if the baby where for some reason to be near the 2 main doors to the 3rd floor, it would automatically lock the 3rd floor. The nurses come to us (we should have 2) and every time they come in they are required to check Mark and my wristbands to the baby's alarm. I also have a nutritionist come in after I give birth and they set up a meal plan designed just for me to help me recover faster so I will not be eating the nasty hospital food! :) My is very spacious it has a sofa that folds out to a Queen Bed for Mark and then another recliner that folds out into a single bed for a second guest if we have someone else spend the night. We are allowed to have one other person sleep there if we would like, and we have the option of allowing 4 extra people in the room with us for the labor. Ohh and I have a nice tub big in the bathroom too!

Anyway that is the update... I can't believe we have a little over 6 weeks to go! Wow!!! It seriously is going by so fast! Anyway, here are a few camping pictures that I was able to get from other family members since I didn't bother taking any :)
